Microneedling is not just a short-lived trend among beauty treatments. Microneedling is above all an innovative treatment method with a great deal of potential – when technique and application are correct.

Perforation images of the round head and the linear needle module

Linear needle module (9-10 needles) in one direction

• Working method only in one direction shows a very uniform image and virtually no multiple perforations

Round head module (9-40 needles) in one direction

• The working method in one direction shows an uneven perforation image due to the needle arrangement/round head geometry. Clear areas with multiple perforations and areas without perforations

Linear needle module in zigzag pattern

• A zigzag working method shows few overlaps and thus multiple perforations

Round head module in zigzag pattern

• A zigzag working method shows very many areas of multiple perforations

Our conclusion

For us, needling devices with a linear needle module show a clearly better perforation image in all three application possibilities. Due to the needle geometry, round head modules cause considerable multiple perforations (re-puncturing of an already existing injury) and thus tissue trauma and possibly increased scar formation in the dermis, depending on the penetration depth of the needles.
